The North Okanagan Artists Alternative and Gallery Vertigo invite you to participate in an open entry fundraising exhibition: Almost Famous. Submission forms and canvasses are available now at Gallery Vertigo.

The purposes of this open entry exhibition are as follows:

1. EDUCATIONAL:
The exhibition is educational. Submissions should have background information attached to widen the viewers’ knowledge of art history

2. DECORATIVE:
The fake must be rendered carefully to attract buyers. (A detail of a recognizable
famous painting is allowed.)

3. FUN:
This is an opportunity for artists to have fun, relax and not worry about their current expressive output.

4. "ALMOST" FAMOUS:
This is also an opportunity for the buying public to own a "masterpiece".

5. FUNDRAISING:
The North Okanagan Artists Alternative will raise funds towards programming expenses by auctioning off the masterpieces at the end of the exhibition.

The exhibition is to take place at Gallery Vertigo from July 31st to August 25th, 2007.
Canvasses are provided by the Gallery with payment of a $5.00 refundable deposit per canvas. (Deposit will be returned when finished painting is delivered to Gallery Vertigo
by Saturday,July 28th at 4pm.)

York University, Ontario and the Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery gave the Comox Valley Art Gallery inspiration for this fundraising idea and Gallery Vertigo in turn gratefully acknowledges all of these galleries. Thank you!
